Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Bauer products lock cylinder protection cap. This is a one inch inner diameter rubber cap that's going to fit right over top your cylinder and allow you to close that off so that you can protect your lock core and the cylinder from dust, mud, debris, all that kind of thing, that could get into that lock core and cause some binding issues along the way. This is a nice rubber construction, so it's going to be UV resistant, it should hold up well for you for a nice long time. As I said, that inner diameter there is right at one inch.
Our outer diameter, closer to one and a quarter of an inch. So this is designed for your Bauer products lock cylinders on your RV's door latch, but this could work for other applications as well, just depending on what you need it for. I'm not using these for a Bauer product, but for Goiot hatches on a sailboat. I'm not sure if they will fit, but worth a try as the replacement from Goiot includes the entire cylinder lock mechanism, keys, hardware, etc., at $75 each (I need two). Regardless they look well made and like they will hold up over time. If they keep most of the salt out of the cylinder these caps will have been well worth it.

I recommend using the Valterra Deadbolt Lock for RVs - Single Cylinder - Stainless Steel - 5/8" Throw # L32CS3008 or 1" Throw # L32CS3108, which will give you a bit more security than just a standard RV entry latch and can even be used paired with your regular door latch. These deadbolts can be used on doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick, so you'll want to confirm your door thickness to make sure this would work.

Since that is what you have on the t-handles on your Leer truck topper, these should work just fine. If you want to be absolutely sure, the inner diameter of the # BA49VR cap is 1". You can measure your lock face to make sure these will work. The other thing you may want to check is the clearance of your t-handles as the caps will add a little bit of extra girth to the lock face.
